Fantascope Production

Philippe Aractingi (“PA”) is an award winning Producer / Director, and a frontrunner among high caliber Lebanese directors. He has directed more then 50 documentaries and 3 features films.
Each of his movies (Bosta, Under the Bombs & Heritages) constitute a milestone in Lebanon’s cultural history.
With more than 30 years of experience, PA has extensive experience in writing, producing, directing and distributing films.
PA is in the process o producing a new movie called ""JOUD"". The proposed film is a love story; the story of Joud, a handsome young sound engineer, shy and affectionate by nature and Nathalie, a very sexy 22-year-old actress. Three months after a passionate and sensual relationship, Nathalie is victim of a car accident which sends her into a deep long coma.
The film is a universal love story that is not purely Lebanese and can be understood by a very wide audience around the world. The general theme, “a sensual film” from the Middle East, is timely given the major concerns posed by Islamic extremism these days.
The movie is co-produced with a French team, consisting of Denis Carot and Marie Masmontiel of Elzevir Films who have together won many awards in Cannes and have box office success in French and European markets.

Speed

SPEED@BDD is an accelerator program for early stage companies (teams at the idea or Minimum Viable Product stage) – currently the sole seed funding accelerator in Lebanon. SPEED@BDD is a collaborative effort between Lebanon’s leading Venture Capital funds and entrepreneurship support organizations.
The Program is to graduate two batches per year, with a capacity of 10 teams per batch. The program duration is expected to be around 3 months, with a main focus on software, digital, and Web/mobile start-ups.

Meacor is a biotechnology startup developing a novel catheter that enables the accurate positioning and attachment of an implant around the mitral valve annulus (ring) through a minimally invasive approach that aims at reducing the area of the valve and stopping regurgitation. The current treatment of MVR is a Surgical repair through open heart surgery, whereas the Proposed Treatment by MeaCor involves the Repair of the valve via heart access through a tube (catheter) inserted from the groin.
The Company plans to continue product development at university-sponsored research facilities at both McGill University and AUB, using research equipment and guidance from Dr. Anwarul Hasan

With the early signs of the IoT market explosive growth, the company was able to identify a perfect fit for its platform in the spectrum of cloud services needed to cater for IoT solutions where it could leverage the decade long investment in the technology platform. The product was fine-tuned to the IoT and Big Data needs and re-launched as Scriptr at the SXSW show in Austin in March 2015.
